Itinerary

  • Altitude: 1,500 m approx.
  • Drive to Base: Dimapur to Viswema (25 km, 1 hour)
  • Stay: Homestay or guesthouse in Viswema

  • Trek Distance: 8–10 km | Duration: 4–6 hours
  • Altitude Gain: From 1,500 m to 2,450 m
  • Route Highlights: Dense forests, bamboo groves, stone-paved paths, panoramic hill views.

Itinerary:

  • Start early morning from Viswema.
  • 3 km jeepable road (can hire local vehicle or walk).
  • 2–3 hours steep ascent through forest stairs.
  • Reach the ridge – enjoy breathtaking views.
  • Gentle 3 km walk across the meadows to reach the base camp.

Stay: Trekker's Hut or tent at Dzukou Base Camp (basic dormitories, no electricity, limited water) 

  • Activities:
    • Sunrise hike to the surrounding ridges
    • Explore the flower-strewn meadows
    • Visit Dzukou River & caves
    • Spot Dzukou Lily (if in season: June–August)
    • Photography & nature walks

Spend the day soaking in the stunning beauty of the valley. Return to base camp for the night.

  • Trek Back: 4–5 hours
  • Drive to Dimapur: 1 hour

Begin early to retrace the same path to Viswema. If energy allows, explore more of Dimapur or nearby attractions.

Stay: Optional overnight in Dimapur or depart onward.

Yes, if you're trekking with an organized group or agency, nutritious meals (veg) are usually provided. At Mountbuzz, we provide 4 times vegetarian meals with Daal and Vegetable dishes that changes it's type everyday, along with Soups, and sweet dishes everyday. 

It’s not advisable to trek solo due to the remoteness, river crossings, and lack of mobile connectivity. Trekking with a group or guide is safer.
