Get a drift of the enchanting land of Sikkim as you embark on a captivating journey to the upper Himalayas at 15,100 ft above sea level. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of traditional lifestyle, as you delve into the heart of the mystical Kanchenjunga National Park. For those who have never been to Sikkim, you are a step away from new experiences of ethereal beauty and unique customs. The air is filled with tranquilly, and a sense of peace permeates every corner. Sikkimese are fun-loving, sweet people, and they have a great sense of hospitality. The most remarkable highlight of the Goechala Trek is that it unveils the grandeur of world’s third-tallest peak, Mount Kanchenjunga, as well as other towering peaks such as Mount Kabru Dome, Mount Pandim, and Mount Tenchenkhang, among others. The sunrise from Goechala View Point, the topmost point of the trek, will blow your mind when you see the first light of the day casting an ethereal glow upon the pinnacle of Kangchenjunga range. Dzongri Top is also a great vantage point to enjoy breathtaking views of the famous Singalila range.
Nestled amidst the serenity lies a beautiful apline Lake, a true gem that beckons adventurers from far and wide. With its tranquil waters reflecting the surrounding majestic peaks, Samiti Lake stands as a testament to the awe-inspiring wonders that Mother Nature has to offer. Behold the majestic sight of Mt. Pandim casting its reflection upon the glistening surface of the lake during the early hours of the day.
The snowy trail of Goechala creates a sense of excitement right from the beginning. During spring and summer, the alpine forests and vast meadows of rhododendron come to life, creating a colourful setting of nature. It’s an enormously pleasant walk through the wooden-log trails of these jungles. It feels like walking in a park when you see the dwarf trees of Rhododendron fanning the trail. The trek also offers a close look at the organic lifestyle of Sikkim as it passes through beautiful hamlets and monasteries along the way.
Please keep in mind that you must book the trek with us at least a week in advance so that we can get your required forest pass ready. There are also extra fees for cameras.
We provide the necessary gear like gaiters, microspikes, and sleeping bags without any additional charges.
There will be a routine medical checkup for all the trekkers every night before going to bed. Our objective is to ensure that all the guests are in perfect health condition to be able to continue the journey with us without any health-related problems. New Jalpaiguri/Bagdogra to Yuksom via Kanchenjunga National Park
Immerse yourself in the thrill of the unknown and create memories that will last a lifetime. After a heavy breakfast, start your journey with a scenic drive to Yuksome along the banks of Teesta river. Yuksome is the old capital of Sikkim and has a rich cultural heritage. The story of the place is as interesting as its name. ‘Yuk’ means three, and ‘some’ means monk… three monks travelled from Tibet and settled there. The entire drive is equally interesting as it offers breathtaking views of the mountains and passes through the thick forests of Kanchenjunga National Park. Upon reaching Yuksome, make yourself comfortable at our cozy homestay. If you have any last-minute shopping requirement for the trek, you can visit the local market. After indulging in a delectable meal, rest for the night to recharge yourself for the adventures that awaits tomorrow.
Yuksome to Sachen
After waking up to a beautiful sunrise amidst snow-capped mountains, we begin the day with a warmup, stretching, and yoga session, followed by a decent breakfast. Today we start our trek towards the higher mountains along the gorges of Rathong river. The path meanders through lush jungles adorned with vibrant Rhododendron blooms and magnolias. Beautiful orchids and Himalayan wildflowers will greet you at every nook and cranny of the trail. You will discover surreal landscapes as you trek through the captivating route. Get ready to be mesmerised by the magnificent sight of Tshushay waterfall flowing gracefully right in front of you. After crossing two long suspension bridges, the trail gets a bit steep till you reach our campsite at Sachen. The exhaustion of the day is bound to fade away completely once you settle down amidst the alpine forest, and hear the river Prek flowing down the valley. After enjoying a scrumptious feast in the lap of nature, retire for the night in your wooden huts.
Sachen to Tshokha via Bakhim
We assure you that it will be a scenic day. After a round of warmup, stretching, and yoga session, our chef will surprise you with his signature Aloo Paratha. Fill up your water bottles, gear up, and start trekking uphill through thick forests of Oak and Rhododendron. The air of mountains will get cooler as you keep gaining altitude. So, keep your windproof jacket at the topmost pocket of the rucksack. We will halt for lunch at Bakhim, a scenic settlement at 8,700 ft, before going further uphill. Upon your arrival at the campsite of Tshokha, tea and refreshments will be served, which are specially curated to tantalise your taste buds. There is a beautiful monastery nearby which offers picturesque view of Kanchenjunga range and Mount Pandim. Immerse yourself in the captivating ambiance of this remarkable location, where every moment is infused with pure bliss. Unwind with a decent meal under the cosmic canopy as the sky turns into a fascinating tapestry of sparkling stars, and then we can call it a day.
Tshokha to Dzongri via Phedang & Deorali Top
The trek of Goechala becomes alluring every passing day. The gain of altitude brings joyous moments, revealing the incomprehensible Himalayan beauty. Today, our goal is to reach Dzongri, a beautiful alpine meadow nestled by towering peaks. After the final ascent, it is always a rewarding sight for the trekkers when they reach this scenic viewpoint that offers magnificent view of the surrounding mountain ranges.
Today’s trek has the most beautiful trail and some unique experiences to gather. With every step, anticipation builds, as nature's grandeur gradually reveals itself in all its splendour. We begin the trek of the day with a gradual ascent through dwarf forests of Rhododendron that creates a look of a park. Leaving behind the little hamlet of Tshokha, we trek further uphill over wooden stairs and rocky path until we reach Phedang. Perched at an height of around 13,000 ft, Phedang offers scenic views of snow-clad mountains. There are a few wooden huts and stalls where we halt for lunch before resuming the trek.
While there are ample of surreal landscapes and stunning viewpoints throughout the entire Goechala trek, the view from Deorali Top just before reaching Dzongri is a feast for the eyes. The Pandim and Kabru range stands tall at a distance. Enjoy a brief photo session at the top-most point of the day’s hike and continue walking on the snowy path. Soon at a bend of the trail, you can see trekkers chilling at the large clearing of Dzongri.
Upon your arrival at our accommodation facility, you will be greeted with tea and refreshment. In the evening, have a good time watching the sunset at the bank of a clear stream flowing by the side of your wooden hut. For those who have a crunch of time and can’t manage with leaves, they opt for our Dzongri Pass Trek. For them, this is the last stop before going back to where they came from.
Hike to Dzongri Viewpoint and return to Dzongri Homestay for Acclimatization
Wake up early, and after a light breakfast, get ready to move while it’s still dark. On this day you can walk without any weight on your shoulders. We will start the hike with our headtorch on to illuminate the trail and reach the viewpoint of Dzongri top before sunrise. It looks like a train of lights going slowly up the mountains. Behold, as the first light of the day casts a golden glitter on the pinnacles of towering peaks that touch the kaleidoscopic sky. The viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the mighty peaks of Kanchenjunga and Singalila ranges. You can expect to get an unobstructed glimpse of the Kanchenjunga massif, Kabru Dome, Frey Peak, Kabru Dome, Pandim, and more. Photographers from around the world visit the spot to confine the moment within their favorite frame. As the day gets brighter, the surrounding valleys reveal their beauty and a serene ambiance envelops the air, casting a spell of tranquilly upon all the visitors. Every nook and cranny exude an undeniable sense of peace, creating an atmosphere that is simply magical. After spending a truly memorable time atop the viewpoint, we start our journey back to the base along the same trail.
Rest of the day is dedicated to the essential process acclimatization, allowing our body to adapt to the change in altitude and weather. Please keep your ears always open as they play a vital role in the process of acclimatization. We also suggest that you keep moving around the place and not sleep in the afternoon. Let your body get used to the climate as you enjoy the beauty of Dzongri.
Dzongri to Thansing via Kokchurang
After an early breakfast, we begin our journey to the next stop through the forests of Rhododendron. The colourful trail greets you at every bend with breathtaking views. The melody of Himalayan birds seems like music to the ears. Follow the beautiful trail under the canopy of tall trees until it reaches Kokchurang where a hot and tasty lunch will be served.
Without wasting much time, we will resume our walk towards the bridge of Prek Chu river. Trekkers can’t help but stop for a while to click photographs of the beautiful river filled with gushing blue water.
As we cross the bridge, the path gets an uphill gradient. After a walk for another 2 km through dense forests, we will arrive at the charming meadow of Thansing. Mount Pandim and the left face of Kanchenjunga stands tall, creating a scenic backdrop.
Thansing to Lamuney
Today is just a walk in the park, as we will cover a short distance of 4 kms through surreal landscapes. After waking up to a beautiful sunrise amidst snow-capped mountains, we begin the day with a warmup, stretching, and yoga session, followed by a decent breakfast. The easy trail surrounded by mighty mountains goes along pastures and meadows before reaching the beautiful location Lamuney.
After enjoying a hot and delicious lunch amidst the serene atmosphere, roam around to grasp the depth of Nature. Immerse yourself in the captivating ambiance of this remarkable location, where every moment is infused with pure bliss. The night is equally magical as the sky transforms into a mesmerising tapestry of shimmering stars.
Lamuney to Thansing via Goechala View Point & Samiti Lake
As you unzip your tents at midnight, the most awaited day of exciting exploration awaits. The stage is set for an exhilarating Himalayan adventure with breathtaking views and surreal landscapes. We will assemble under the canopy of sparkling stars at 1 a.m to begin our hike to Goechala View Point, perched at an height of 15,100 ft. A midnight start ensures that we reach the viewpoint well in time to see the first light of the day illumnating the Kanchenjunga range. As the snow is still firm, this not only makes it simpler to walk on the moraines that you encounter after the dawn point, but it also makes it safer.
Goechala top is truly a magical spot that offers a panorama of the upper Himalayas right before your eyes. The cold gushing air reminds you of the altitude at every step, creating a sense of serenity. At this height, there is nothing but incomprehensible beauty around and utter silence. After enjoying a beautiful sunrise, we start our journey towards Samiti Lake. Prepare to be mesmerised by the still water of the alpine lake reflecting the images of towering peaks early in the morning. After spending quality time by the lake, photographing and relaxing, we will trace our way back to Thansing.

Thansing to Tshokha
After a round of warmup, stretching, and yoga session, savour a tasty platter of English breakfast with the view of Mount Pandim. Today we begin our journey to Tshokha, the scenic hamlet we stopped on our way up. The trail has a moderate gradient of descending. You will be taken aback by the surreal beaty of Rhododendron forest on both sides of the path. It dispenses an aura of pleasantness and rejuvenating energy.
After taking a lunch break at Phedang, we will resume navigating our way through the woods till we reach Tshokha.
Tshokha to Yuksome via Bakhim and Sachen
Wake up to the warmth of day’s first light kissing the towering peaks. While our chef is busy preparing a grand breakfast four you, our trek leader will keep you engaged in an interesting games period. Keeping the snow-capped mountains at the backdrop, we soon dissolve into the realm of nature. After crossing the mesmerising Prek Chu river, we stop for lunch at Sachen and then keep on navigating our way to Yuksome through the forests of Rhododendron.

It's time to bid adieu to the charming town of Yuksome after a light breakfast. As per our drop services, the car will start at 8 a.m. in the morning from Yuksome and drop you off at New Jalpaiguri Stationa by 5 p.m.
