Prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring landscape where nature’s wonders come together in perfect harmony. Hampta Pass Trek in Himachal Pradesh is known for its dramatic crossover trail that starts from the green valleys of the Kullu region and ends in the semi-arid, cold desert of Spiti, where a serene alpine lake called Chandra Taal awaits you. From the vantage point atop the Hampta Pass, which is at a height of 14,100 ft (4300 m) above sea level, the landscapes lying in front of and behind you are quite distinct. In the old days, this was a trading route. The trail passes through thick forests, flower valleys surrounded by snow-capped mountains, natural gardens of Rhododendron, meadows, and rivers in the beginning but later reaches a barren landscape with almost no vegetation. As there are no technicalities involved while crossing the pass, it is quite an adventurous trek for beginners. The journey to Chandra Taal by road is yet another magical experience. The 48-km drive along the Himalayan landscape and Kunzum La (pass) takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. Having the same level of altitude as Hampta Pass, this beautiful lake is surrounded by vast meadows and towering peaks. Despite the rugged terrain, it’s in a sheltered spot with a few flowers and a few animals in the summer. Snow Leopards, Golden Eagles, Red Foxes, Himalayan Ibex, and Blue Sheep are some of the inhabitants of the area. While coming back to Manali from Chhatru on the final day of the journey, you will also get to cross the famous Rohtang Pass.
There will be a routine medical checkup for all the trekkers every night before going to bed. Our objective is to ensure that all the guests are in perfect health condition to be able to continue the journey with us without any health-related problems. Our certified and experienced trek leaders will guide you at every step of the journey. We believe their endearing nature will enhance your overall experience of the trip.
