Dehradun to Khatian
Our journey begins with a pick-up from Dehradun railway station at 6:30 a.m., marking the commencement of our weekend escape. With excitement bubbling within us, we embark on a scenic drive towards Panthwari via the charming town of Mussoorie. The road winds its way through verdant landscapes and picturesque vistas, offering glimpses of the majestic Himalayas in the distance. Over the course of our 100-kms journey, spanning 3-4 hours, we immerse ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings, eagerly anticipating the experiences that await us. Upon reaching Panthwari, our base camp for the trek, we set foot on the trail to Khatian. The trek covers a distance of 5.2 kms and unfolds like a storybook adventure, with each step bringing us closer to the heart of the wilderness. We are greeted by panoramic views of rolling hills and lush forests. Throughout the trek, we replenish our energy with snacks, fuelling our bodies for the journey ahead. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, we arrive at our destination, Khatian, where a delicious dinner awaits us. With satisfied appetites and tired limbs, we retire for the night, ready to rest and recharge for the challenges of the next day.
Summit Nag Tibba Peak | Drop at Dehradun
As the first rays of sunlight filter through the trees, we awaken to a new day filled with promise and adventure, we begin the day with a warmup, stretching, and yoga session. After a hearty breakfast, we lace up our boots and prepare to conquer the summit of Nag Tibba. With a maximum altitude of 9,915 feet beckoning us onward, we set out on the trail from Khatian to Nag Tibba, Pantwari. The trek spans a total distance of 9 kms, offering a blend of exhilarating ascents and gentle descents. Despite the challenges, the trail is accessible to trekkers of all levels, making it the perfect choice for beginners and seasoned adventurers alike. Along the way, we pause to admire the breathtaking views that surround us, from the snow-capped peaks of the Great Indian Himalayas to the sprawling valleys below. As we reach the summit of Nag Tibba, our hearts swell with pride and accomplishment. From this vantage point, we gaze upon the Bandarpoonch ranges in all their glory, a sight that leaves us humbled by the magnificence of nature. With memories to last a lifetime and a sense of fulfillment in our hearts, we begin our descent back to Pantwari. As we say goodbye to the mountains and make our way back to Dehradun, we carry with us the echoes of our journey and the promise of new adventures yet to come.
