Perched at an altitude of 11,930 ft, Sandakphu is an expose point for the famous “Sleeping Buddha” formation. The unobstructed view of the Mount Everest , Mt Kanchenjunga , Mt Lhotse, and Mt Makalu, is the major highlight of the journey. The trail of Sandakphu encompasses the Singalila National Park,home to numerous species of rare birds and animals .You never know when you become lucky to have a glance of Red Panda which is very rare.
This trek is ideal for beginners as well as experienced trekkers who want to experience diverse landscapes, charming Himalayan villages, rhododendron forests, and snow-covered trails—all in one journey.

Arrival at Manebhanjan
Enjoy a beautiful drive from NJP to Manebhanjan, covering almost 80 Kms. The road gently gains altitude and becomes even more beautiful as passes through the uplands of Dooars. The last few kilometers welcome you with several hairpin bends and steep gradients. Upon reaching Manebhanjan, feel home at our cozy homestay.
Manebhanjan to Tumling
Route: Manebhanjan – Chitre – Meghma – Tumling
“Nature is not a place to visit , it’s a home” It’s a blessing waking up to the birds chirruping and fascinating sunrise which awaits you. As the day gets warmer we also get warmed up by body warmup, stretching and yoga sessions followed by our nutritious breakfast, as we en route for Tumling, get ready with your camera we start witnessing a never forgetting fascinating views on way clearly visible till Meghma while we slowly gain altitude. Upon reaching Tumling feel home like and make yourself our cozy home stays.
Tumling to Kalipokhri
Route: Tumling – Gairibas – Kaiyakatta – Kalipokhri
After waking up to a beautiful sunrise amidst snow-capped mountains, we begin the day with a warmup, stretching, and yoga session, followed by a decent breakfast.
Today you will conquer a distance of around 9 km in 5 hours trek to Kalipokhri. In this part of the trek Singalila National Park will astonish you with its beauty of the ambiance . As the trail penetrates into the dense forest and we often take time saving trails which meet the jeep road while gaining altitude in a very short distance. If you trek in spring vibrant blooming Rhododendrons will accompany you. During the last part of the trek, you will come across a small lake. Upon reaching kalipokhri, enjoy staying overnight in our homestays. We can call it a day with post-dinner relaxation under the celestial canopy as the night sky transforms into a mesmerising tapestry of shimmering stars.
Highlights:
This is the shortest but steepest day of the trek. The final stretch to Sandakphu involves steep climbs, but the reward is unmatched. On a clear day, the entire Himalayan range—Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and the Kanchenjunga range—unfolds before you in an awe-inspiring panorama.
Sunset & Sunrise Views:
Don't miss the sunset over the Himalayas. The sunrise next morning over the Sleeping Buddha formation is equally magical.
Route: Sandakphu – Gurdum – Srikhola
Highlights:
The descent begins through rhododendron and pine forests. Gurdum is a quiet hamlet surrounded by alpine vegetation. Srikhola (or Sirikhola) is a scenic riverside village, perfect for relaxing after the trek.
Highlights:
After breakfast, drive back to NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport, marking the end of your Sandakphu adventure.
